How can you optimise Pinterest for your property management business?

Using Pinterest for a property management business is an underrated but smart way to attract clients, landlords, and even tenants. Given that the property industry relies on great images it makes sense to use a visual search engine like Pinterest.

But as a property management business, it’s not just about showcasing the actual properties and more about highlighting all your services.

So how can you make work effectively for you?

In this blog I give you actionable tips and advice to make Pinterest work for you.

Make sure you optimise your account

As with any Pinterest business account you want to make sure it works hard for you so you can start by creating a Pinterest Business account or converting your existing personal account.

1.    Create a clear profile

2.    Profile photo (your face = trust)

3.    Bio with keywords like business coach, mindset coach, startup strategy

4.    Link to your website or booking page

Showcase your properties, even when they’re not available

Think about what your ideal clients will be looking for and create boards accordingly. Examples could be:

  • “Modern Apartments in [your city]”
  • “Luxury Rentals”
  • “Before & After Renovations”
  • “Family homes in [your town]

This is the perfect opportunity to publish high-quality images of interiors, staging, and renovations which will help build trust and position you as a professional. Even past properties help demonstrate your portfolio.

Attract Landlords

Most property managers forget this - your main customer is often the landlord, not the tenant. So, you want to post content which is going to position you as the solution to their problems.

Create content like:

  • What kind of services you provide e.g. Tenant find, full management, partial management
  • Updates on relevant legislations e.g. renters’ rights
  • Highlight the issues you deal with that they might not have thought of e.g. HMO regulations and safety certificates.

Utilise the SEO aspect of Pinterest

Using the correct keywords will ensure your Pins will not only show up in the Pinterest search but also Google results.

Before you start creating pins, make sure you do your keyword research and then use the keywords accordingly.

For example:

  • “property management tips UK”
  • “how to rent out your flat London”
  • “buy-to-let advice”

Each pin will link back to your website, blog, or landing page ensuring that there will be a steady stream of web traffic over time.

Share the home, not just the house

Remember, when people rent homes, they need to imagine living there. They’re not just looking for a home they’re also looking for a lifestyle.

So, it’s also a good idea to post inspirational lifestyle content and useful information about the area they’re thinking of moving to.

For example:

  • Interior design inspiration
  • Local area highlights (cafés, parks, transport)
  • Moving tips and checklists

This will help build emotional connection and reach more potential clients

Generate leads with simple funnels

Posting useful lead magnets are a great way of building your client list. One way of doing this is by posting an example of what problems you can help solve as a property manager.

For example:

  1. Pin: “5 Mistakes Landlords Make When Renting Out Their Property”
  2. Click → blog post or landing page
  3. Offer → free rental valuation or consultation

Pinterest is more of a slow-burn than social media, but your content lasts much longer and can bring in lead generation for years.

Create Branded, Clickable Pins

Create pins that are useful and people will want to click on. Ideal content to showcase your expertise as a property manager could include:

  • Infographics
  • Tips posts
  • Step-by-step guides

It’s a Long-Term Play

Unlike social media, Pinterest can direct traffic to your website for months or even years, just from 1 pin.

Pinterest may be more of a slow-burn strategy compared to Instagram, but your content has a much longer shelf-life. Remember - it’s not about going viral, it’s about being searchable.

Unlike Instagram or TikTok, Pinterest content can bring traffic for months or years after posting. One good pin can keep generating leads long after it’s published.
